Hunting Mila and moving on

January 11, 2006 by Melissa · 2 Comments

Hunting Mila was turned in this weekend, and I am not onto Her Wicked Warrior. The last day I working mainly on my newsletter and getting the firt one up. And since I am about as efficent with computer junk as a dog it took awhile to get it all worked out. I think it is pretty nifty. I am also going to start a serial story, just for my loop members. The first installment will be posted in my newsletter but the rest of it will just be for loop members.
After I turn in Her Wicked Warrior, I have a couple other projects: A SIM that was lost in a computer crash and I have been typing back into it, and editing. BOY HOWDY, did I stink. My editors have taught me lots and lots. I also have a contemporary I am working on to try in NY. Not sure it will happen, but I need something new to go there. And during all that, I need to write Sinner’s Delight, my next LI Bounty Hunter book. *g* lots of work before I move.

Birthday Time!!!!!

January 4, 2006 by Melissa · 2 Comments

Well, I am spending the day having fun on the Loose Community Loop celebrating my birthday. I am not that big into it, especially since I’ve had children. But, I figured, hey, why not spend it here and give away ‘birthday presents’ to the readers. I know I have talked about it before, but I love these days. Being mainly in ebooks, I can’t do tons of signings and even with my print books that isn’t feasible. But this way I get to chat with readers, find out what they like, what they are looking for in romance, and also get to know them better.
I am off to round up kiddos for school and then I will be posting like a mad woman today. You get a chance, stop on by.

Happy New Year and a new cover

January 2, 2006 by Melissa · 5 Comments

I spent NYE ringing in the new year in bed. And NOT what you think, lol. Usually this time of year I have worked my way into a fine state of stress and the migraine reigns my life. Nothing new this year. But, I am getting some great writing done.
I was also offered two new contracts for two books to be released late 2006. One is going to be my first witch story, El Dia de la Muertos, and the other is May and Evan’s story, A Little Harmless Request. EDDLM is going to be my first book set in San Antonio, so it should be fun. My daughter is all gung ho about helping me research a few places in and around the riverwalk. ALHR is going to be my first suspense, with BDSM and my first sort of dark hero. Evan is a bit of jerk, but his childhood was nightmarish, and he has good reasons not to trust women. May is a woman who will restore that faith, but not without some fights.
I have another project I am working on with Kally Jo Surbeck and Lacey Savage, but we are still in the early stages. It is really something new for me, much more different than any other book that I have tried. It still has to be accepted so I will let you know how it goes:)
Oh, and I have a new cover to share. Isn’t it beautiful?? Scott Carpenter has done it again for my next Sweet Shoppe series, Her Wicked Warrior. And yes, I have studied LONG AND HARD. That dude is nekkid.
