As Wonkette Said…Freedom, March, BS

October 25, 2006 by Melissa · Leave a Comment

I have been in hiding working. I just finished Chasing Luck, which is part of the Phaze Anthology, Tempting Fate. I am just about to finish up A Little Harmless Sex. But I came across this and as a military spouse and former brat, this just irritates the living hell out of me. Check it out. See what kind of freedom our men and women have as they sit in a hell hole. Then ask me why I hate this freaking war.
Here is a bit of a letter Wonkette got from a Marine.

I don’t have the words to describe how I feel. They have sent me to this desert three times…each time saying that we are defending freedom…which is BS and everyone knows it. And on top of that they have taken away many of the freedoms that we are supposedly fighting for….

And if that isn’t enough, their new voting system seems to be screwing the military members overseas. Politicians are all full of talk but damn if they really care. Oh, and just in case you had any kind of idea of just how this admin and the jackass counterparts treat our military, check out their voting scores.
Oh, and just so you know, blogger sucks big time. Soon I will have my own website blog and wait till you see that one:) Sorry, no half nekkid men, damn blogger and really, I can’t do it with this crap. I am still pissed.

Powerful Ad

Update: for those of you who did not hear, Rush Limbaugh, a man who goes to the Dominican Republic with Viagra(psst, they are known for the sex trade where you can get a woman for 2 bucks a day where they are kept as slaves)claimed he wasn’t thinking Fox was faking it. He said he hated Fox was actually trying to make a difference. Then, he said this today. Bastard doesn’t even cover it.

Romance Junkies Final!

October 14, 2006 by Melissa · Leave a Comment

On the advice of a friend, I entered the RJ writing contest. I really hadn’t expected to final mainly because I rarely do. Once for the eppies, twice this year for Cataromance reviewer’s choice. But, apparently, The Cursed Clan:Black Diamond, finaled and will be going to an editor at NAL. This is a departure for me because it is a bit darker than other stuff I have written. The Finalists and you can read the first chapter of Black Diamond here! It is entered under the name, Ann Bodnar. The pic is the inspiration for Callum. I am bouncing off the walls, lol.

Do You Remember Your First Time?

WVWV PSAs
Women’s Voices-Women Vote has a great new campaign ad to get women out there to vote this year. I have voted since my first election in 1988 at the age of 19, and I think it your duty as an American Citizen to vote. Even if your politics and mine don’t mesh, I don’t care. Get out and vote! Besides, if you don’t, I will not take any bitching about what is wrong with politicians. Either be proactive or shut up, lol
Go watch the PSA’s. Really clever.

Almost there…but not quite

I am just about to turn in Sinner’s Delight, down to 24 hours I believe. It has been a long journey through cutting a chunk that didn’t work, disappointment on my part because of things I am not happy with, a move to a new house, and two surgeries for my dad, who just had his second one last week. There were times I thought about not writing it because Sasha and Rafe were just not helping me, both sitting in a corner, not wanting anything to do with what I wanted. Once again, I have learned to listen to them, and allow the course my characters want to happen.
Will be underground until I get this one in the can, so to speak. Lots of rain in the San Antonio area today, my favorite weather for writing:)

Light at the end of the tunnel

As I trek towards turning in Sinner’s Delight, I have hit a bit of a road block in terms of pain. Well, that was yesterday actually. I have dealt with migraines in one form or fashion since around the age of 16. Some places we live they are worse than others, considering the stress, the weather, and if I am pregnant or not. Mine are hormonally connected, and so my pregnancies were horrible. You can’t take a thing.
I will say when I lived in Hawaii, my migraines were not as strong as they are here. I am not sure if it is because of the weather, or the fact I had almost no allergy problems, but they were not as intense as when I was on the mainland.
But, my inlaws have come to visit for a first time in the HAUNTED HOUSE, but our resident ghosts have turned shy. My mother did see something. A little bottle of my daughter’s paint flew off the cabinet and onto the floor while she was sitting at the dining room table. A little disconcerting to say the least. She said there was no reason for it to fly off the top of the cabinet and onto the floor. So, we do have one somewhat independent sighting, lol. Nethertheless, they seem to be harmless and are just hanging out from my estimation.
Off to finish up Sinner’s Delight. It is…a little different as the plot is set up in a way that has Sasha and Rafe meeting later than heroes and heroines meet in my other books, but I think it works:) I can get a few hours of work in before I have to cook everyone lunch.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend and Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadians:)
