How I spent my Christmas

December 29, 2007 by Melissa · Leave a Comment

So, as you many of you know I spent my Easter in the hospital and, thanks to a wicked case of pneumonia my youngest has, I spent Christmas there. Poor thing was pretty bad off when we got there on Christmas Eve. We were released yesterday and got to open all our presents(although we opened a few in the hospital). We have to be very careful because she is still on IV antibiotics so I will be buried in work and taking care of her.
Thanks to everyone who already sent me good wishes. I hope everyone had a great holiday and please, be safe on New Years’ Eve:)

Woo hoo, a site redesign and a new trailer

Bekke from Dream Forge Media did a fantastic job on the new design. There are a few changes including all my trailers are on the bookpages, woo hoo. Plus, I have a new printable booklist that is much easier to read.
Also, I am finished with A Little Harmless Pleasure and did a trailer for it. Let me know what you think:)

Five Heart Sweetheart!

December 18, 2007 by Melissa · 3 Comments

I’m still overwhelmed by warm reception The Seduction of Widow McEwan has gotten so far. Val from Love Romances and More had this to say about it:

If you have not yet read a book by Melissa Schroeder, this reviewer urges you to do so.  She always gives her readers a marvelous story with ‘leap from the pages’ characters.  She always gives her readers hot love scenes and a romance to warm the heart and cuYUMMYrl the toes.  She always gives her readers an exciting adventure that will keep her readers turning the cyber pages not wanting the ride to stop.  This story is no exception.  Not only will you read about this wonderful couple who are trying to get together, but the mystery of who is out to get Jamie and ruin her ranch will have the reader guessing too.  This reviewer rather fancies these types of stories where the hero is a bit younger than the heroine.  This is a refreshing, exciting read and a must read too.  So, what are you waiting for?

And, now it is up for the Five Heart Sweetheart of the week at The Romance Studio! Not sure when voting ends, but I had to post a big thank you to Beth Williamson for letting me know.

I am so excited about this review. I truly loved The Seduction of Widow McEwan and I hoped that everyone else would like it also:

Ms. Schroeder has again presented us with a quick paced, solid plot which proved to be captivating. Her characters were graphic and believable. Her main characters were so loving, and the sensual scenes so mesmerizing, that I could not put this book down. The book is a great way to spend an afternoon and the ending, as well as the target, will shock you. Great book! ~Brenda Talley, FIVE HEARTS

Saturday in an icky, sticky SA

I am so glad we are moving. Not that I have anything against San Antonio, other than the fact that every tree pollen I amfreddie_ljungberg.jpg allergic to seems to be here, but I want to move. We are waiting for the official orders but it looks like we will be living on the east coast next, and further north, THANK GOD. I need a change or the military brat in me is going to go INSANE. But today, I am still in San Antonio, getting ready for my folks to come visit to see A. play in the band. It is humid and icky out, in the 70s, going to hit 80 today, and I find it hard to get in the holiday spirit.

When we lived in Hawaii, it was different somehow. Maybe it was the presence of the beach and the scenery that did it, but it didn’t bother me as much here. I am ready for cold weather, to be able to snuggle with my kids on the couch as we sip hot chocolate. *g* Oh, well.

Anyway, I got my next round of edits for A Little Harmless Pleasure done, and plan on finishing my menage, Conquering India, done by tomorrow. I finally updated my little 70 days of sweat thing, although I have been a naughty girl and not checking in. Been too busy WRITING, lol. But I readjusted it to 80K since one project got moved back, but I worked on other things, like adding more to ALHP and getting it over 60K now, and writing a short story. I should finish this all by Jan 1st.

Editing and what not

I got what I hope are the last content edits before A Little Harmless Pleasure goes to line edits. It is quite different from the original that was released over two years ago. It is now over 60K when the orginal was only 42 and there have been acb4.jpgscenes redone and some completely cut out. I think, thanks to Sasha’s hard work, that it is much better that the first, even though that one got a perfect ten the first time around.

Everyone have a good weekend and stay warm if you live up north!

Still hard at work

It has been a crazy week, like they usually are right before Christmas. Things that have nothing to do with the insane season pop up and I find myself unable to keep up with daily things, like showers. This year seems to be no different, but I am pushing ahead on my writing.

Right now I am working on a short story, Conquering India, that is unconctracted and A Little Harmless Obsession, which is due in to my editor on Jan 1. But, I have a sick kid, visits to school about the other one and her speech therapy, and parents showing up this week. *g*

Be sure to check out the January RT where I have two ads in the dreamstime_9830351.jpgSamhain bunch. Scott Carpenter did the ads and I have to say they are wonderful as usual. The man is a genius! I am off to yell at kids and get one of the to school then off to write. Send me some good writing vibes and I found this guy for inspiration:)
