Thanks, Laurie

Okay, so I lied, although I am really going to bed in a minute, I had to do a public thank you to Laurie for talking about The Accidental Countess on her blog today:)
She said some things that were really nice and almost made me cry(have I mentioned that I am on cold meds?)
Thanks, Laurie, and everyone, go show her some love:) This guy is just for her.
Thanks, Laurie

Right on, Montel

Rumor is he lost his talk show over this. I have to say I agree. Granted, like someone noted on the youtube channel, you can’t know the person’s name until the family is notified. But, Montel is right. No one is paying attention. This isn’t an argument for or against the war. It is just a fact we are losing people daily over there and it seems like no one in the coporate media is paying attention. And, please, don’t email me and tell me there isn’t enough time. They have news on 24 hours a day and most of it is on Brittany Spears. Five minutes a day to bring attention to the people who lost their lives in the line of duty doesn’t seem to be too much to ask.
I have to say the hosts look pretty stunned and I think that is a sad comment on the state of our media that they looked irritated that he dare bring up troop deaths. And I agree with Montel. Heath’s death was tragic and I truly wish it didn’t happen. My prayers and thoughts have been with his family and friends since I heard that it happened.
I am going back to bed with my cold meds and sleeping.

Want a free short, hot thrill

I have one for ya! I wrote up just a really, really short story called A Little Harmless Fling to celebrate the rerelease of A Little Harmless Pleasure this coming Friday! There is a little surprise at the end of it, and I hope you all enjoy it. Look for more stories like this throughout the year and didn’t Bekke do an excellent job for my cover?

If you are still trying to get a hold of me, I must beg apologies. I am truly fighting this flu and it has left me exhausted. I hope to be back up to speed by early next week.

Down for the count

Well, the flu arrived big time for me and the little one. Poor Les was stuck at home taking care of us today, and we are both extremely whiney. No work, no playing online, I am pretty much stuck in bed. No work, because I can’t really think straight. We have to keep an eye on E because it is very soon after her bout of pneumonia to be sick like this.
So, to make myself feel better…

I ended up as NUMBER ONE for Regency with Lessons in Seduction! Truthfully, if they had The Accidental Countess on there as a Regency, I would have the number one and two spot. It won’t last, but I have never hit number one, I don’t think, EVER.

Back to work

I have to say yesterday was a wonderful signing day! If you live in the Houston area, you need to stop by Katy Books. I had heard all about them from authors, but I have to say, it is joy to meet so many spectacular employees. They truly know customer service, and you can tell they know books.

I did the signing with Rosemary Poole-Carter , and I snatched her book Women of Magdalene. It is historical fiction set right after the civil war and it looks really interesting. You know me, if it is historical, I will give it a try, lol. She was a joy to do a signing with and talk about her research.

Also, Ali and her cousin Elisa stopped by and I had a late lunch with them. It is sad that I have to leave Texas and won’t get to see Ali that much more:( But, since the family is in Texas and I now have at least two stores that would like to have me back, I will probably make a quick trip back sometime in late 2008 or 2009. I have several prints coming out, including A Little Harmless Pleasure, Leather and Lace, and then Purgatory with Kally:)

Ali and Elisa were so nice and super patient while I did my handprint in paint for Katy Books. It is something they do with the authors who sign there. I hope to get to do another one next year!

Popping my head up

To say HEY!

It has been a crazy week, in work and personal schedules. I finished up editing A Little Harmless Fling, a free short story that will be uploaded to the website soon, and I have been working on A Little Harmless Obsession. Oh, and my workshop proposal for RWA Nationals was accepted! If you life in Northern Cali, I’ll probably be doing some kind of get together. I’ll keep you posted.

On top of that, we adopted a dog. The puppies we wanted had been adopted and we decided to adopt a dog from the Humane Society. She’s a gorgeous dog, part Swiss Mountain Dog, part Rottweiler, part something else. She’s a year old, so not much training involved, and great with the kids.

Belle with her bandana from the Vet.

Isn’t she purty??
Off to work now!
