Still working, still not here

February 28, 2008 by Melissa · Leave a Comment

I am working on edits, swear to GOD, but I have had a busy few weeks with E’s bday and work, and oh, the monstrous migraines and sinus problems. We are also gearing up for the move. DH got a date for the movers for May 7th, just over TOW MONTHS, so I need to really get cracking. I have been trying to keep my head above water to keep up with the WCP’s Fifth Annivesary that will be a month long celebration next month:)
Also, I am working with a bunch of authors to get a scavenger hunt for readers who won’t be attending RT:) We are going to be giving away a ton of books and an EBOOKWISE READER.

Again, another reminder that I have the free story A Little Harmless Fling that has a nice little twist at the end. Oh, and don’t forget to check out my trailer for Seducing the Saint.

HOLY COW!!!!!

I just found out that Lessons in Seduction got a 4.5 from Romantic Times!
Just a little snippet:

Hats off to Schroeder for this delicious and delightful romance. The hero is someone that readers will want to take to heart and to bed, the heroine is feisty and goes after what she wants, the suspense is intriguing and the outcome surprising.

—Faith V. Smith

I haven’t had a 4.5 since Grace in 2004. And of course, man meat to celebrate!

4.5 BABY

UPDATE:
Oh, well, issue 290 seems to have disappeared so they may still be loading stuff. I SWEAR it was there, lol.

Under the covers

February 22, 2008 by Melissa · 2 Comments

And not in a good sense. I just feel like I have been under cover since I have been working all week. Editing like a crazy woman, two weekend visits from family, and some other personal business that has popped up. It is keeping me hopping for sure. Hope everyone is staying warm and safe(if you are in the north) and have a great weekend:)

ohh, I wish I truly were in bed

Just for romance but number 7 overall! Liam and Marlow have forever given me joy and I have been so happy that so many people like them after 3 years in print.

A LIttle Harmless Pleasure-FIRST REVIEW

February 15, 2008 by Melissa · 1 Comment

I am truly excited about this review for this book. I did some extensive rewrites for it and have been so overwhelmed by the reader response.
Here is a snippet of the review:

A Little Harmless Pleasure is a fast paced and interesting story that grabbed my attention from the beginning and didn’t let go until I’d raced to the very last page.

Mystical Nymph says that and a whole lot more in the rest of the review at Literary Nymphs!

Last chance to win and an answer to several repeated questions

February 12, 2008 by Melissa · Leave a Comment

Hey, everyone! My newsletter is going out on the 15 of this month, so to get in on the upcoming contest and the contest for people who are already members, you need to join on my NEWS page.

Secondly, most of the emails I have gotten about my books come down to three things:

1.What is A Little Harmless Obsession about? It is May and Evan’s story:)
2. What is the next book in the Once Upon an Accident Series about and when is it due out? The next book is The Spy Who Loved Her. It is Anna and Daniel’s book and I don’t have a release date on it right now. I am thinking late 2008 or early 2009 for the digital.
3. What happened to The Sweet Shoppe? I am actually working on a story right now, a menage, for one of my publishers. I actually have two planned right now and I hope to get Cowboy Up and Her Wicked Warrior back in print. I hope to have some news in the summer:)

I am off to finish fleshing out the plot of the first Clan book and do some edits.

Cedar…the pollen from HELL

February 12, 2008 by Melissa · Leave a Comment

So, yeah, I am convinced that Cedar is from hell. It is really back, not that it ever left, in BIG amounts today and I had to resort to antihistamine. There is nothing like an itchy nose to drive you crazy.
So, I didn’t get much done in the way of edits today, but I am hoping tonight I might steal a little work time after dinner.
I hope everyone else is having a safe and happy day. Good luck to those of you getting hit with the snow.
hmmm, now that's a nice tattoo

ARGH

Just so you know, I do not live in Wisconsin and I am not the Melissa Schroeder who is a Super Delegate. I’m a frumpy housewife in Texas who writes naughty books*g*.

Hope

No matter who you are, or who you have voted for, or plan to vote for, I think this is a great message. There has been so much negativity in the last few years and it is great to have people finally saying that we can all make a difference.

Another weekend, another TWO signings

February 8, 2008 by Melissa · Leave a Comment

Hey, everyone. I am buried, okay, that is a normal state of existence for me, but I am heading out of town today for a signing and an appearance. I will be speaking at the RWA’s Yellow Rose Chapter on Saturday morning, then doing a signing at the Barnes and Noble in Highland Village from 2-4. Shayla Black, Michelle Miles, Denise B McDonald and Amie Stuart will all be there! Then, Sunday, I have my last signing this Sunday from 2-4 at the Barnes and Noble on San Pedro. It is a new author signing and there looks to be a wide variety of interesting authors there.
If you live in the area be sure to stop by and say hi!
In other news, I knew my historicals were getting some orders from libraries and this blog popped up telling me where one of them went. I was mentioned in the same blog post as Stephanie Laurens! OMG. Okay, it was just mentioning that both of us just got to the library, but still. And, I just got the most delightful review on Amazon for The Accidental Countess. It gave me all kinds of warm fuzzies this morning. Just made my day.
Hope to see you this weekend!
