Music and writing
November 10, 2006 by Melissa
As many of my readers know I ramble quite a bit about music. It inspires a lot of my writing, as Raining on Sunday did for A Little Harmless Pleasure and Holding Out for a Hero did for Hunting Mila. Hell, even the old Tom Jones song, You Can Leave Your Hat On inspired a scene in Lessons in Seduction, which is a historical, lol.
But, going back to A Little Harmless Sex, I found that I could use Barry White, one of Anna’s favorite singers, but there is a song that truly talks of the relationship between Anna and Max. Hold Onto Me by John Montgomery is really their song. For those of you who don’t know it, or don’t like country, it is sung from his POV saying that he always wants to be with her, that no matter how bad she is, mean, weak, whatever, he will be there for her. She hasn’t had a lot of that with the men she’s been with. Max, as you will find out in this version, has a reason to control everything and hold his cards close to his chest.
I think you see the video HERE
I so hope that I am not going over the edge on this book and boring the hell out of people. I am sure Sasha will tell me if she thinks I do.

Hi Melissa!!! Big hello. Been a long time! I don’t know music but I have read some lyrics so I love to read those.
Hey sweetie, how are you doing?
Most of the time it is the lyrics that get me. Raining on Sunday was definitely about the lyrics and so was Hold Onto Me.
