Rainy Day Shopping
December 10, 2006 by Melissa
Today we had to take our older daughter, A., out to shop for black slacks. A. is in the band, and they have a concert tomorrow night. They are wearing royal blue shirts and black pants. I am sure it will hurt my eyes, but we went out in search of black pants for her. Simple enough, right? Wrong. They had to be dress pants and she is sort of at an awkward 12 year old stage. She has a bit of hip and finding pants to fit her right is just not fun. Especially since she hates to shop. She loves clothes but she hates to shop as much as I do, unless it is books.
So, we go out, it is kind of drizzly, the crowds are out in full force. We started out fairly early, but it took forever and I was forced to go to the mall. If I have not mentioned it before, you should know how much I hate people. Well, no, not people, but crowds. I can handle conventions and conferences for readers and writers, but give me a crowded mall and I start twitching. Thankfully, we found her a pair and after a quick trip to the commissary and throwing on a red sauce to simmer, I am able to work.
So now that I bitched to you all, I think I will try to play with Cicely and Douglas a bit before I have to get everything else ready for dinner.
