Soup and writing
January 14, 2007 by Melissa

Well, South Central Texas is about to get smacked with the mess that hit my folks hard yesterday in North Central Texas. Sleet, ice, snow. If it is cold and wet, they are forecasting it for the area. This is actually my favorite type of weather, without the ice. Cold, dreary, wet, all perfect weather for my writing, which I know is at odds with a lot of other authors. I think it is because I have seen so little cold, wet weather. For the first time in her memory, and mine, my oldest is contemplating the joys of cancelled school.
So, being that the weather is cold, I set out to make some stock so we can have homemade soup tonight. Something about soup just makes me all domestic. Don’t worry, it stops at the kitchen, lol. I always say, I am the Peg Bundy of housecleaing. ButI think a nice chicken noodle with salad and bread would be great tonight although I might go for the creamy. I do have one I love to make, a tomato soup. It is so easy to do, and with some grilled cheese sandwiches(grilled panini if you want to get fancy) and salad, it is a very filling meal. Be sure to use fresh basil if you can get your hands on it. Makes all the difference.
I am also back at work on Lessons in Seduction, moving full steam ahead and should finish it this week, mentally crossing fingers. Thanks to the very helpful, Shelley Bradley, I am playing with a story board with this one (where you plot the story out chapter by chapter) and it really has helped. I am hoping to hear on cover art soon on the historicals, and don’t forget the rerelease of ALHS is coming up really soon. Look for me to be doing some fun stuff the week of Feb 6th:)

Hey mel I honestly did know you had a blog till I saw the contest thingy on JR site. But now I’ve found you.
Thanks. I had one at blogger but when I did my redesign, I moved it here. Blogger is such a pain and here I can say what the hell I want and not worry about being flagged:)
