Ice Storm 2007 and contemplation

Okay, so for a lot of you in other parts of the country and world, this is not such a big thing. But in San Antonio, where we rarely get more than a hard freeze or two each year, if that, this is HUGE. Lots of places closed down, including the base and all the schools(ready to kill my kids who are stuck inside), and writing is getting hairy as I start to get cabin fever.  That, and I believe I might be looking into a change in careers, but that is still in consideration. Not the best time to be stuck in the house with the depressing prospect that I may not continue my writing career past present contracts.

So to break up my block and break my depression about my career, I decided to walk around a bit outside, since it has actually stopped raining for the moment, and take come pics.

Aww, Mel, I’m sorry to hear that you have cabin fever… I hope the weather gets better. I know it’s cold here in Houston, but haven’t seen any icicles yet ;-) I’m also praying you don’t change your career… I love your books :-)

Girl, that’s fancy frost where I come from, lol!

But its good everything shuts down when it does happen - especially I-35, cos Austinites in particular cannot drive in it!!

    :))

Did you see the ice storm pics from .. where was it, Switzerland?? last year?? Jeebus!

Melissa are you praying for school tomorrow or at worst a two hour delay? My kids are driving me nuts, the eldest even went outside and cleaned off the DH’s pickup because he’s so bored.

    Ali,
Thanks, sweetie. Les got me out for dinner and Universal City isn’t that bad tonight.
I have a lot of thinking to do about my career. I am actually contracted through 2009 with Samhain, and I always honor my contracts and I love them. But, there are days I don’t think I’ll make it big anywhere. Being stuck inside with whiney kids doesn’t help.

    Isabella-
LOL, SA can’t either. Well, no one can remember when they shut down Randolph AFB last time. That base just never closes.
And, yeah, I remember that. Nothing compared to our little ice, lol

YES, because I know they will make my husband go in, lol. He has some big conference call, and tomorrow is THE day for finding out for our next assignment. Of course, we have had several “the” days, but you know how that goes, lol.
We got a break because my older daughter spent the night at a friend’s last night. But the little one is definitely an outside kid but she won’t wear gloves. I was ready to hang her by her toenails, lol
