I FOUND MY EBOOKREADER! Yeah, I am an idiot and misplace things all the time. And because I have some form of ADD, or possibly, I am just a jackass(I think the latter is probably more possible than the first possiblity), I forget to look for them. So, I remembered I had been looking for my ebook reader some months back and this week, I searched for it. After finding it, I have been reading like a crazy bitch.
One book I have been wanting to get for some time now is the new version of Pack Challenge by Shelly Laurquerenston. Shelly is an amazing writer and I am so happy that she has a slew of books coming out. But this updated version is just amazing. Then, because I like her writing and she is a fantasti
c person, I went in search of Lauren Dane’s Enforcer. WHOLLY CRIPES, what a good book and truthfully, I cannot help but love a heroine who calls the hero wolf boy. It is the sarcastic bitch in me I guess. Next up: is Shelly’s Go Fetch and then two more EC books, Jaguar’s Rule, by TJ Michaels and Lauren’s TriMates.
So, you tell me, who are your favorites? Do you prefer a certain type of animal or just anything goes? I am looking for recommendations so please, post in the comments. AUTHORS: Post in the comments about your shape-shifter books, let us know what you have out:)And why are you doing this? Because I am writing my first one, and I need some research. So all help will be much appreciated!
Reader winner gets their choice of a GC from My Bookstore and More or Amazon. I’d offer up EC but I couldn’t find a GC there, so let me know if they do and they can be added into the mix:) I will draw a name tomorrow morning.

I love all types of shape shifters. Ones I love are Sherrilyn Kenyon mixed in with her Dark Hunters, Kelley Armstrong’s Elena, Laurell K. Hamilton has some shape shifters with her Anita Blake stories. Rebecca York is good. Marjorie M. Liu’s Tiger Eye is great.

I prefer them all (wolves, felines, equine, etc.). Some favs of mine are :
Kate Hill’s Horsemen (yup hung like a horse for these stories)
Lora Leigh’s Breeds (not really shifters, but dna enhanced, still hot books)
Rebecca Goings’ B*E*A*S*T* (got to love heroes who want to get back at the people who wronged them. Can’t wait for Wade)–I know she has the Legends of Mynos also, but I haven’t read that one yet
Christine Feehan’s Dark series (love the heroes who are afraid of turning into the enemy they fight against)
Tielle St.Clare’s Shadow of the Dragon (dragon-shifting heroes who want only their mate)

I enjoy shapeshifters. Some favorites are:
Rejar by Dara Joy
Mona Lisa Awakening by Sunny
Anita Blake series with LKH
and Kelley Armstrong’s books
I particularly enjoy the authors’ descriptions of the changes in the bodies of the characters in human form and animal form. Some of the characteristics that bleed over from one form to the other and descriptions of how the character senses or experiences the surroundings differently in each form, etc make a book really fascinating. Am particularly fond of big cats.

Amy S,
I am hooked on the Cascadian wolves right now! I am playing with the idea of a cowboy vamp, but every now and then it moves into ideas of a futuristic cowboy vamp, mainly because it will be a menage. Still playing.

For me anything goes when it comes to shapeshifters. I especially like it though when it’s wolves or the big cats. Those are my favorite. Laurell K. Hamilton is one of my must read authors and I love the shifters in her Anita Blake series. Very sexy stuff.

You asked for blurbs and links, Melissa–here ya go!
HAWKMOOR, available in Secrets, Vol. 13:
Soon after Darien Berenov and Mary Alison Hawkmoor were bonded to one another, Mary Alison disappeared, an orphan lost in the human world. Darien took her place, growing up as a prince among the shapeshifters and using the Hawkmoor name to keep the peace.
When Mary Alison surfaces, Darien’s authority reverts to her. But she doesn’t know how to control the shifters. War explodes around them. With people dying and the moon swelling toward full, Darien chooses among ugly options: He must bring Mary Alison under control, or he must sacrifice her for the sake of peace.
THE SUBJECT will be available July 1 in Secrets, Volume 20: Surrender to Pleasure.
The Subject is Tyler–One week she’s the hottest game designer in North America, signing the deal of her life and in easy sight of her first million. The next week, she’s on the run for her life. Who can she trust? Certainly not sexy, mysterious Esau (don’t-call-me-werewolf) Kirkland, who keeps turning up right after the hoo-hah hits the fan!
LIGHTS OUT! is a darker (and kinkier) read. It’s the story of Lorelei and Jack, and Tommy. In a time of spies and saboteurs, the shadows hide something worse…
The world is at war. Behind the lines, hydes once driven underground by electric light now reclaim the blacked-out streets. Against them stand huntsmen Jack French and his twin, Tommy. Only half a step from becoming monsters themselves, the twins risk life and soul to protect the people of the daylight world.
After her mother joins the victims, Lorie joins the hunters. Jack and Tommy need her as a lure. More, feeding on her orgasmic energies might keep them from taking that fatal half-step into the darkness. Under Jack’s intimate tutelage, Lorie becomes a perfect feeder — and the consummate bait. But when a beloved face becomes a monster’s face, will she have the grit to do what must be done?

Melissa,
I do have a shifter series as Sandra has said, but it’s different than the “norm”. My shifters are made genetically by the B*E*A*S*T* agency, who are not benevolant… The men can’t remember a damn thing about their “lives before” and they’re trying to rediscover themselves as well as come to grips with the creatures they now are. And of course, fall in love along the way.
There are three books:
THE B*E*A*S*T* WITHIN (print & eBook)
B*E*A*S*T OF BURDEN (eBook with print soon)
NATURE OF THE B*E*A*S*T* (not yet released)
You can find out more info on them at the following link, as well as excerpts and book videos.
http://www.rebeccagoings.com/books/paranormal/index.html
If you read them, hope you like them. There’s no “packs” or “magic” or “family traits” in these. Picture the Bourne Identity with shifters.

my favorite shape shifters are selkies and here’s my blurb for my selkie Celitc/Romance Danger Is Sweet by Cornelia Amiri:
From ancient druid lore, springs the tale of a mysterious, dark warrior, a fiery Pict Princess, and the shadowy secret standing between them. Bethoc, a Pict Princess, looses her father and her betrothed in the massacre of McAlpin’s treason. After a failed attempt to slay the Scot King, Kenneth McAlpin, she is forced to wed the king’s cousin, Malcolm.
Malcolm must somehow forge a strong enough friendship with the Pict princess to get her to help him guard the Scot’s greatest treasure, the Stone of Destiny, as they carry it to Scone. For Kenneth means to be crowned in Scone on the jewel of destiny. Both Malcolm and Bethoc’s friendship soon turns to love. But just when their relationship develops to the point where Bethoc declares her love for Malcolm, he reveals an unbelievable, dark secret.

My favs are:
Lauren Dane’s Cascadia series
Christine Feehan’s Dark series
Kate Douglas’s Wolf Tales series
There are just too many yummy choices out there.

Any shapeshifter story is a favorite of mine, especially werewolf tales. There is just something very intriguing about a person who can shift from their perceived form into a completely different one.
Here are some favorite reads:
Black Dagger Brotherhood series from J.R. Ward, about six vampire warriors, defenders of their race.
Wolf Tales series by Kate Douglas, many outstanding stories about her sexy Chanku
Tales of the Were series by Bianca D’Arc, featuring were, fey and vampire in the first story
Dragon Lords and Lords of the Var series by the talented Michelle M. Pillow, these series are interconnected and contain so many unforgettable dragon shifters and cat shifters.

There’s a minor character in a Nina Bangs novella (in Surf’s Up) that turns into a shark. I’ve always found sharks kinda dumb (scary but dumb), and dumb is not sexy, but this shark made me hope he’d get his own story. lol
I like MaryJanice Davidson’s Wyndham werewolves, Christine Warren’s Others, and Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark, to mention few.

Hi Melissa,
I love all kinds of shapeshifters whether it be an alpha werewolf or a small hawaiian gecko who turns into a sexy surfer.
My favorite are the all powerful dragons,I’d love to be the heroine for a dragon baby.

I write werewolves. Gay werewolves to be precise.
Two of my three werewolf tales are available from Torquere Press (links at my website) and the first one, “Cake under the Mistletoe,” is available for download until the end of the month.
http://angelsparrow.com/cakeunderthemistletoe.pdf
I started writing werewolves because my publisher announced “we need to fill a December single-shot. Anyone who gets me 10,000 words by the end of the week, gets it.” I got to percolating and typed out Cake in about 4 days
I wanted something different, and then i remembered the legend that children born on Christmas Day are werewolves. So a pair of thoroughly modern werewolves, complete with parents who just don’t get it, jobs, e-mail and computer games.
Right now, I’m working on a djinn and a naga falling for each other in the middle of the British Raj. It’s called “Serpents.”

Angelina! That sounds like a fantastic story, I will definitely check it out!
The same thing happened with my Sweet Shoppe Series. Loose needed something fast and that is what I came up with.

Mel I recommend The Keythong’s Blaze by Emma Ray Garrett. The heroine is a phoenix and the two heroes are griffons. I like shifters but want to see more variety like in this book.

You are so sweet! Thank you and I’m thrilled you like my books (seriously in a fangirl type way because I adore your writing).
I love Kresley Cole’s Hunger LIke No Other, Kelley Armstrong has one of the most unique takes on werewolves I’ve read and I love her voice. Judy Mays has great werewolves. TJ Michaels writes cat shifters. OH! My favorite though? Eileen Wilks Lupi books. Tempting Danger, Mortal Danger and Blood LInes. Rule Turner is one of the sexiest heroes this side of Roarke.
And in Jennifer Ashley’s new Immortals book: The Calling, there’s a dragon shifter who comes from a goddess. Lovely stuff. Bianca does wonderful dragons too.
I love love love shifters, especially wolves. They’re so feral and elemental and the men have a reason to be alpha. Yum. Can’t wait to read what you’ve got in store.

Thanks, Lauren! I am itching to write the book, and Joy has gotten a peek at the first chapter and said it was okay:)
