Writing, editing, and anniversaries

It was a slow day. My mind never did really kick in gear but I did write about 850 words. I am going to try to write a bit more before heading to bed.
I did have a lot to do for the trip and tomorrow I have A LOT to do. My dad’s Bday is coming up, and since I am foisting my Seeds off on him and my mother for the weekend, I definitely need to make sure he has something nice. I have to un-Borgnine my eyebrows and get a trim so I don’t look like a mess at the signings this weekend. Oh, and grocery shopping. <G> Yes, I usually wait until the last moment. I am still over 6K for three days, so I am ahead and hope to get this all tied up tomorrow before my folks get into town. I know I will have edits for A Little Harmless Pleasure from the Fantastic Sasha when I return so I want the rough draft done. I will be writing on the trip if I have time.
We are using this weekend in particular to get away because 17 years ago Oct 20th, Les and I met. Odd, because it was at a wedding of two people who divorced several years later. The bride told me later on that she thought the only reason they married was to get the two of us together. See, no one in their right minds would have put us together. I am a tempermental Italian, who is more likely to throw a pot at his head than discuss just why a TDY less than a month before we move is a bad thing. He still doesn’t understand why.
Les is very…well, German. And a FREAKING CANCER. He is quiet, until you get to know him, and really laid back. So, no one would have thought to fix the two of us up. But then, no one suspected that he’d reach across the table to ask me to dance and spill my water on me.
So, Saturday after the signing we are disappearing to celebrate. I’ll try to post while I am gone, but it is a crazy schedule and I doubt that I will be able to get much in. I will definitely have lots of pics because I have put Les in charge of photos(I always seem to forget).
