"Melissa Schroeder brings together two very independent, highly motivated characters in Sweet Patience. When these two are in the same room together, sparks ignite into flame. A delicious romance, a sexy alpha male and three overprotective brothers make this story a truly satisfying read."
Four hearts! Belle Dressler, The Romance Studio

Chance MacGuire has always had good luck. Great childhood, great career and hell, women are easy for him. Except for Patience Sawyer. The woman is a list maker. Hell, she makes lists of her lists. Chance likes to go with the flow and see where he ends up. He hates schedules.

But when she proposes they open a bed and breakfast together, using her business savvy and his culinary skills, he jumps at the chance. Now, if he can just keep his hands off her, they'll be fine.

Patience is sure she's lost her mind. Asking Chance to buy the Rosedale Plantation with her and open their B and B sounded like a great idea. Forget the fact that he doesn't like following her business plans. That she can handle. But after the hottest kiss she has ever had, keeping her mind on work and not on him, is hard. Although his laid back style should turn her off, she is immediately drawn to him. His easy going manner puts her at ease and they find themselves as perfect business partners. But, when too much time spent alone together has their hormones in overdrive, and they can't resist each other, will they be able to forget their differences and find love?

» "Melissa Schroeder rounds out this anthology nicely. Lucky is a refreshing sister to the Fates. She displays a rich appreciation for life. Readers will be easily drawn into the banter and awareness simmering between Chase and Lucky. As the story comes full circle, there is plenty of passion, a touch of humor, and just the right blend of justice and love to end this anthology perfectly." Amanda S, Fallen Angel Reviews

» "This is a delicious story about the important things in life.  Luck and Chase are just so right for each other even though at first they fight their attraction.  Thanks to Hera, Chase decides to go after her.  This is also a very sensual story, with emotions running hot!  This reviewer has been a fan of Melissa Schroeder for some time and has always enjoyed her stories.  This story has definitely been no exception." Val, Love Romances and More

He crossed his arms over his chest and she couldn’t help noticing the shifting muscle beneath his shirt. Her own skin heated. Perspiration gathered between her breasts as she felt her nipples tighten against her bra.

“Costs of what?”

Lord, his voice was so beautiful. He’d been raised in the South. The slow, deep baritone with that southern accent washed over her and tingled along her nerve endings.

“What?” She sounded breathless even to her own ears.

“Patience. You said you were estimating costs.” His voice was almost a growl now.

“Oh … oh.” She licked her lips. “Of redoing the kitchen.”

He let loose a sigh that was filled with aggravation. “Patience, you already gave me that estimate.”

She nodded. His voice had deepened. Patience would bet he was a groaner. There is no way Chance would be quiet in bed. She’d bet he was a talker too.

“If you don’t stop looking at me like that, you are going to have trouble on your hands.”

The rough edge of his voice skated along her nerve endings. Her body heated as a slow roll of heat unfurled in her stomach.

“Looking at you like what?”

“Like you want to eat me up with a spoon.”

She drew in a shuddering and his gaze dropped to her breasts. Chance closed the distance between them and drew her into his arms. Before she could protest—before she could think—his lips were on hers. His hands fastened on her waist as he pulled her body against his. Even through their jeans, she could feel the hard ridge of his erection against her stomach.

His tongue traced the seam of her lips. As the heady mixture of desire and Chance spiraled throughher, she opened her mouth without a second thought. He invaded her mouth, not like a consummate lover she’d heard about, but like a man possessed, a man determined to conquer.

Patience threaded her fingers through his hair and felt herself slipping. The taste of him—untamed and seductive—sent another flame of heat through her. His hands slid to her ass as he pulled her tighter against his straining cock. All she could think was that she wanted him. Here. Now.

A tidal wave of need crashed through her. She couldn’t fight it—didn’t want to. She wanted to surrender to the onslaught of emotions.
