Morning Update

February 6, 2010 by Melissa · 9 Comments

Well, HOLY CRAP. I mean, I knew it was coming, but to see it in action is just amazing. Remember, I have a LINKS page. They are saying we have another wave of heavy snow before this is all done. My area is reporting about 15 inches as of 5:45 this morning. We measured about two hours ago and it was 16 out front, but we think we probably have gotten about 1-2 inches since then. They are predicting about 5-10 more inches before this is done. The shoveled area is already covered again, but at least we got a little bit done.

Here are a few pics from around our house:

It isn’t scary blizzard like, no wind, but the snow is already pretty steady. And it is WET.

Here are some pics and after them I’m listing some links for those in the area to keep up with what is going on. You can’t see much here, but I will post pics later on so you can compare:) If you live in the area, email me any pics at MelschroATaoldotcom. I will post them and attribute them to you:)

Snowpocalypse, the sequel

Well, it seems that this MIGHT be worse than the one in December. I am planning on posting during the storm, taking pics, etc. If I am stuck here editing and writing, I might as well let you all know what is going on:). If I don’t kill my family during the weekend of confinement, everything should be okay, lol
I am tagging everything with the snowpocalypse tag, so it will be easy to find.
Oh, and for your viewing pleasure:

SNOW

February 4, 2010 by Melissa · 10 Comments

So, NOVA has been getting blasted with snow this year. Bad for the budges, they are running out of money to clean it up, but I LOVE IT. We only had 5 inches the other day, but we are expecting a HUGE storm this weekend. I got out yesterday and took pics. Belle is part mountain dog, so the girl LOVES the snow. She is going to be thrilled when we get more this weekend. I am off to do some more editing on Hands On Training.

AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: Lucy Monroe

January 19, 2010 by Melissa · 1 Comment

Today I want to talk about a very special lady. Lucy Monroe is possibly one of the sweetest women in this biz and a fantastic author. I love all of her stuff, from her presents books to her historicals to her Bravas. And, I truly adore her Children of the Moon series.

Finally, she has the next book coming out, and I cannot wait! Here is a little info and the fantastic book trailer.

Moon Craving
Feb 2010 – Berkley Sensation
ISBN-13: 978-0425233047
Children of the Moon Book 2

If it were up to him, Talorc—laird of the Sinclair clan and leader of his werewolf pack— would never marry. But when the king orders that Talorc wed an Englishwoman, the lone wolf is shocked to find his mate in the strong-willed Abigail. And after an intensely climactic wedding night, the two fiercely independent souls sense an unbreakable bond…

Deaf since childhood, Abigail hopes to keep her affliction from Talorc as long as possible. And for his part, he has no intention of telling her about being a werewolf. But when Abigail learns that the husband she’s begun to love has deceived her, it will take all of his warrior’s strength—and his wolf’s cunning—to win his wife back. And Talorc will have to face his biggest challenge yet: the vulnerability of a man in love…

New things on the horizon

January 16, 2010 by Melissa · 3 Comments

So, I have a full workload for 2010. I am about to turn in my third book for the publication year, and I need to get three more done:) It makes me happy to be so busy.  I have four releases scheduled now and I hope to have one or two more before the year is up. Plus, 2011 is starting to fill up and I hope to have some info on more stuff soon.

I have been thinking of things I would like to do. I am going to start doing vlogs soon. The first one will probably just be cooking. But, I will include instructional vids on how to work an ebook reader to things for authors about promo.  PLUS, I have something really cool planned for RT so keep your eyes peeled for that.

I am also playing with the idea of having a Skype conference chat about once a month with readers. If you don’t know what skype is, check it out. It is a free download and I would love to get to know you better. Email me directly for my skype addy so we can hook up.

I am back to reworking Hands On Training. It truly has been an eye-opening experience. Things sort of went crazy when Heath’s friend Grant showed up, and at the moment, I just don’t trust the dude. He’s naughty but a lot of fun. I hope to turn that in this week and get started on The Spy Who Loved Her. I have been reading a ton of historicals to get back into the mood for it and I am definitely ready!

Have a great weekend and if you are a subscriber, keep an eye out for my newsletter some time this weekend. It will have more info about upcoming releases and the winners of my big ereader contest!

Winner

Yes, so it took me almost two weeks to get back to you all! I will claim it was my old age that caused my forgetfulness, lol. First a comment about the dust around the site. It does look a little different. Jeannie from Will Design for Chocolate is getting my new background up. Of course, at the last minute, I said, wouldn’t red be nice. So of course, she is redoing some of the blue parts. But, you can see what a wonderful job she has done so far. I cannot wait to get my new bookmarks and business cards.

But onto our bday winner. Cynthia N, you have won your choice of book from me. email me MelissaATmelissaschroederDoTnet and I will send you a list of what i have available in print to send you.

Thanks for the wonderful bday wishes everyone. Two weeks into the year and our family has already had three. Mine, Demon Seed the First, and my dog. <G> We have until March for the next one at least.

Happy Birthday TO ME

January 4, 2010 by Melissa · 20 Comments

So, today is my forty-first birthday. Truthfully, I don’t freak out like a lot of people do with each birthday. I am somewhat self-centered and since your birthday is all about you, I LOVE IT. I am celebrating with a Reiki session today and reading. Charging up my ereader right now! And, you all know I love you, right? I have a blog contest today just for people who stop by(and please pass on the info, only posting to wicked on this). I will give you a choice of any of my paperbacks I have in stock if YOU tell me how you would celebrate your perfect bday. Just post it in the comments here and you get entered.  My day is going to be filled with relaxation, books, and a yummy cake from Wegman’s.

For those of you in my newsletter, I am awaiting the list of members from my newsletter gals. As soon as I have that, I will definitely pick the winners.

Oh, and I guess we need some pretty men for the day:

I hope everyone has a wonderful day, filled with fun and good times, and as always, safe. I made this a few years ago, but the feelings are the same behind it.
