Read an Ebook Week

Woo hoo! So, all of you know that I am an avid ebook reader. Even if I was not an author, I would be. It fits my life much better than print these days. I have not bought a print book since before January 4th, 2009 when Les and the girls bought me an ebook for my birthday. If it isn’t in ebook, I don’t buy it. And before we move, I will be giving away a lot of my other books. Some I will keep, signed copies-things like that, but there are a lot of books going. I just don’t want to unpack them next time.
But, this is the week of celebrating the ebook. I remember when I first signed w/ WCP in 2004 with The Hired Hand. People had no idea what an ebook was. They thought I was making it up, or I would talk to authors who told me I was not a “real” author. Okay, some of those authors are still around, but no one can say that the ebook is not a major format today.
So, to celebrate, Samhain is having a BIG party all the way up to the SAMMIES and I am the first author up today. Plus, over on WICKED, I am going to be playing all week and giving away ebooks. Make sure to pop by. I will be on Samhain Cafe from 1-2 eastern today. I will be giving away three ebooks…reader’s choice.
So, I hope you come out and play. And for your Sunday viewing pleasure:

Turkey day and other things

Over on the Wicked blog I talk about my thankful stuff, but I wanted to wish all those who celebrate Thanksgiving a happy Tday. It has been a crazy week at the Schroeder’s. We have been car shopping, and DSS was in her first play with LINES. She was super excited. I am looking foward to having some slow days ahead of us before the next round of holiday stuff starts. DSF is in two parades and has a concert before Christmas.
Friday, I am going to see my wonderful massage therapist Alex. For those of you who don’t know, I suffer from a massive muscle spasm thanks to a damaged disc that sits on it. I am trying to avoid surgery or living my life on drugs and Alex has been a godsend. I am all jazzed because I am doing a 2 hour session, one hour of massage, and an hour of Reiki. If you have never tried Reiki, I highly recommend it. I know a lot of people would doubt its ability to help, but it truly does. I have never felt so positive after a treatment. I felt all energized and ready to take on the world. So, from now on, I am getting at least one of those treatments a month and I am thinking of learning how to do it myself.
In writing news, I am tying up the loose strings of A Little Harmless Kalikimaka, the free short story for Samhain. I don’t have a release date on it yet, but it will be in December. I am also polishing up Conquering India for edits and finishing up the rewrite of Hands On Training. I have been finding myself yearning to dive into a historical. One of the first things on my agenda after the new year is to work on The Spy Who Loved Her. Very excited about that:) I am also going to finish up The Hammons’ Woman, and cross my fingers that the publisher will want it:)
Again, please have a safe and happy holiday weekend! I hope you and your friends and family find nothing but wonderful good times this weekend.
